The Southwick Public Library will present a series of three free computer workshops for adults beginning with a computer overview on Tuesday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. which will be facilitated by Frank B. Quirk a retired instructor/trainer with Northeasten University whose work included teaching computer skills to adults. Registration by adult patrons in good standing should be completed as soon as possible.
The three-program series will consist of three one-hour instruction periods in the Community Room, and on the 19th with a one-hour session on keyboard and mouse use, if needed. The 19th will also include Internet concepts/ equipment/ terminology, Internet access and navigation, and security.
The Wednesday, July 27, 2011 session will feature Email, creating Email accounts, ID and password, and sending and receiving.
Finally, the Tuesday, August 2, 2011 session will concentrate on entering and editing text for word processing/resumes/forms.
The registration form, outlining both interest and knowledge, needs to be completed in advance, and will be available at the Circulation Desk of the library. No phone registrations will be accepted.
